NEARLY THREE DECADES OF EXPERIENCE
I set up my shop almost 30 years ago in St. Paul Minnesota as a wedding and lifestyle photographer. My first wedding was for a cousin—and my mom was my assistant! Digital photography wasn’t even a thing; I shot everything using film.
Andrews Photography has evolved a lot since then. I still photograph a few weddings a year. Plus engagement sessions, family and senior portraits. And now more than half of my work is commercial—Headshots, portrait, products, business locations, events, branding and social media images.
The changes have been exciting and fulfilling! Collaborating with business owners, ad agencies and designers who are passionate about doing good work, keeps my skills honed and my style fresh. And I can’t deny how much digital imaging has fueled my creativity. The best part of my business is all the cool people I’ve worked with along the way. Whether I’m capturing business milestones or memorable family moments, meeting the people behind the stories has been rewarding and fun.
We all have been effected by Covid and the way we have done business. I set up a unique product back in 2016. The concept was simple, solo photos of each staff member made into a composite group photo. The clients who have embraced this concept been able to utilize this product to keep their group photos fresh and up to date. It is a great feeling to know that I can keep my clients safe while helping them complete one vital task on the branding list.

WORKING WITH ROD
I have a small studio in my home with a separate entrance, shoot outdoors and on location or wherever the project requires. Everything is shot digitally then expertly color-corrected and retouched for print and online usage.
